GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

OBJECTIVES:

The objective of the Students Grievance Redressal Cell is to develop a responsible and positive attitude among students in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in Canara Engineering College Campus.

  1. Upholding the dignity of the Institution by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the Institute through promoting cordial student-student relationship and student teacher relationship etc.
  2. To support, those students who have been deprived of the services for which he/she is entitled.
  3. To make teaching and supporting staff responsive, accountable, courteous in dealing with the students.
  4. To ensure effective solution to the student grievances with an impartial and fair approach.
  5. Encouraging the students to express their grievance/problems freely and frankly without any fear of being victimized.
  6. Advising the students to respect the right of dignity of one another and show restraint and patience whenever any occasion arises.
  7. Advising the students to refrain from inciting students against other students or teachers and lnstitute Administration.
  8. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the lnstitution.
  9. Any violation of ragging or disciplinary rules should be urgently brought to the notice of the Principal/Anti Ragging Committee of the Institution.
  10. To ensure effective solution to the students grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

OUTCOMES:

  • If the student was denied quality service (related to bus, canteen, mess, uniforms and medical) and was not given satisfactory explanation.
  • If a student has problems in academics and seeks remedial action well before the exams.
  • Financial Matters related to dues and payments for various items.
  • Grievances relating to classroom facilities, washrooms, housekeeping, etc are given immediate attention.
  • Any grievance regarding faculty / staff are received and immediately conveyed to Principal.
  • Hostel grievances are conveyed to the Administrative Officer / Hostel Wardens.

FUNCTIONING OF GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL:

The Cell deals with grievances in the form of written complaint, e-mails with signature from the students, staff, women, parents and any other stake holders about any of the following matters:

  1. Helped smoothen out friction arising due to grievances among students.
  2. Facilitated availability of services to students. Eg: Sanitary Pad Vending Machine and Incinerator, classroom adjustments, college bus facilities, etc.
  3. Students, parents and any stakeholder have put forth their grievances without hesitation and grievances have been dealt with taking into account the best interest of the stakeholder.
  4. With no issue of ragging been reported in the college, we have striven hard to establish a Ragging Free environment in the college and hostel premises.
  5. Strict confidentiality is maintained as regards the aggrieved.

Student Grievance Redressal Cell has been constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the students with the following objectives:
