The session, held in Seminar Hall 1, attracted around 200 students eager to learn about their career paths post-engineering. Mr. Ashith provided valuable insights into various career opportunities, including higher education, placements, and other professional avenues available after engineering. His practical advice and industry knowledge enabled students to gain a clearer perspective on making informed career choices. On October 26, 2024, the Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE) in Moodabidri hosted a significant event in collaboration with Binghamton University, State University of New York. Held from 10 AM to 4 PM, the event featured informative discussions, program overviews, and one-on-one interactions with representatives from Binghamton University. The keynote speakers included Prof. Peter J. Partell, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Administration, and Ms. Johanna Brozinsky, Director of Graduate Recruiting at the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science, Binghamton University. Prof. Partell delivered an in-depth overview of Binghamton University, emphasizing its distinction as the No. 1 public university in New York, as ranked by Forbes, and its position among the top 50 public institutions nationwide according to U.S. News & World Report. The presentation covered a range of graduate programs, with a focus on engineering and applied sciences, as well as scholarships, internships, and job opportunities available to international students. A detailed program overview included: An introduction to Binghamton University and its achievements, Graduate program offerings, particularly at Watson College, Scholarship, internship, and career opportunities for students, Open discussions and personalized one-on-one sessions, allowing prospective students to have their questions directly addressed. The session was led by Ms. Jisha Rani, a Characterization Engineer at Karmic Design Pvt. Ltd. and a distinguished alumna of our EEE program. Ms. Rani addressed the students on fundamental concepts in electronics, including the operation of diodes and transistors, emphasizing the importance of mastering these basics for a solid foundation. She elaborated on how these components are integral to more complex circuits and their practical applications in various technologies. Additionally, Ms. Rani provided valuable insights into the semiconductor industry, detailing the interview process at companies like Karmic Design. She discussed the skills and knowledge that are critical for success in such interviews and highlighted the industry's expectations from prospective candidates. Her talk also included tips on staying updated with the latest advancements in electronics and effective strategies for continuous learning and professional growth. The mock interview was conducted to the sixth semester mechanical students on 22/06/2024. Two resource persons of our mechanical alumni's were conducted this event most effectively. This was benefitted to our students to face interviews in coming days.

A 2-hour session on generative AI which covered key concepts, hands-on exercises, and discussions. The workshop gave an overview of Generative AI, Types of Generative Models, Key Concepts and Hands-on Exercise. Students were able to gain a foundational understanding of generative AI concepts, including how it differs from other forms of AI and its applications and also understand the challenges and limitations associated with generative AI, including ethical considerations and potential biases.

Aptitude & Soft Skills training was organised for first year students scheduled from 4th to 7th April. The training started at 9 am and went on till 4:30 pm. There were two batches of students Batch 1 had training sessions on 4th & 5th, batch 2 had training on 6th & 7th. The topics covered in the training were Communication role play, why English for Engineers matters & included an Interactive session with question and answer.

The talk was arranged in EC Seminar Hall on 17th December 2021 at 2:00 PM. Resource person highlighted the need for practicing aptitude problems to develop the associated skills. 80 students of third year benefitted from the talk.
